Last week, Reading Ambassadors from Didcot Girls' School paid the final of three visits to Sutton Courtenay Church of England Primary School to mentor students for this year's Oxfordshire Book Awards.

Students from Falcons class were paired with DGS Reading Ambassadors to read the books shortlisted in the Best Primary Novel category. Each of the Year 6s thought the book they were reading deserved to win the award, which is determined solely by votes from students, and are keen to finish them in their own time. 

I was really impressed by the way the Reading Ambassadors brought the texts alive for the younger students, as well as the enthusiastic and mature response of the Falcons class. 

We can't wait to see which book is chosen as the winner later on in the year!
