On Friday 23rd February, we were delighted to welcome award-winning author Manjeet Mann to Didcot Girls' School. Year 9 and 10 students attended a talk from Manjeet about her book The Crossing, which explores the journey of a refugee from Eritrea trying to reach England, and the reaction of local people living in Kent. 

The Crossing is one of the books featured in the Reading Aloud scheme for Year 9, so several tutor groups in our Year 9 and 10 cohorts had enjoyed reading this book with their tutors already, and the talk gave them further fascinating insight into the inspiration behind the novel.
