The Geography Department is delighted to announce that we have been awarded a MetMark for 2023, building on that we achieved in 2021.  

The MetMark is awarded by the Royal Meteorological Society and the Met Office. The award recognises excellence in weather and climate teaching, over and above the normal requirements of the National Curriculum or exam specifications.  

At Didcot Girls' School, we continue to deliver outstanding weather and climate teaching. We engage often with cross-curricula climate change events with the support of an external speakers. 

We have also successfully installed a school weather station, donated by the Friends of DGS. As such, staff, visitors and students can access the data and it is regularly used in lessons and fieldwork planning.
