An invitation to our Sixth Form Virtual Open Evening on 18th November 2020
Posted on: 04/11/2020Invitation to Didcot Sixth Form Virtual Open Evening – Wednesday 18th November
Dear parents and guardians,
I would like to extend an invitation to the Didcot Sixth Form Open Evening, which will take place on the evening of Wednesday 18th November. As we are not able to welcome visitors to the school site at present, the evening will take place virtually.
The evening is aimed at prospective Year 11 applicants and their families. You will have an opportunity to hear from me about our offer, our vision for the sixth form, and its culture (‘how we do things here’). You will hear from Mr Parkin-Haig, who is the incoming Head of Year 12 in September, about the pastoral support available and our enrichment provision. You will also hear from student leaders about what it feels like to be a student at Didcot Sixth Form, and from parents of current students about their experience. The evening will be interspersed by musical interludes from The Accidentals, the school a capella group.
The presentations will last for around 45 minutes, and will take place at 6.30 and be repeated at 7.30. Please click here, or visit the Didcot Sixth Form website, to sign up for one of the sessions. We will then send you an invitation to the webinar link and instructions for how to join on Monday 16th November. Places are limited, therefore, if for any reason after registering you are unable to attend please email d6events@didcotsixthform.co.uk.
If you would like more information about how the application process works and an indication of key milestones in the process, please click here.
If you would like further information about the courses we offer and our wider provision, I please consult the prospectus by clicking here, which contains a wealth of information.
Finally, if you would like a taste of what life in the sixth form is like, I would recommend browsing The News at Six, our weekly newsletter, or The Sixth Sense, our student-edited termly magazine.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch by emailing me on jcross@didcotsixthform.co.uk. Otherwise, we look forward to welcoming you on 18th November.
Yours faithfully,
Mr James Cross
Director of Didcot Sixth Form
