Huge congratulations go to the DGS Interact Club who were recognised at the 2017 Didcot Business and Community Awards evening. Despite strong competition from some extremely impressive local charities and organisations, the club came away from the evening as winner of the Inspirational Youth Group of the year and runner up in the Raising Awareness category.

The annual event is run by the Didcot First organisation and was an inspirational evening that involved finding out about charities and companies working to develop the town and support those who live there. Club presidents Petra Kenny and Shelley Smith collected the award and got the chance to meet lots of local charity and business leaders.

The girls were nominated for their excellent fundraising and awareness projects they have been working towards over the last year. The judges were particularly impressed with their role within DGS and how all students from the youngest to oldest are given leadership roles in project and event planning. They also commended the external links that the club has developed in the Didcot community with the Rotary Club and the Welcome Break group.
