International Day 2025
Posted on: 28/03/2025Didcot Girls’ School was once again delighted to host International Day, a much-loved annual celebration of languages and cultures, welcoming around 150 primary school children from Didcot and the surrounding areas.
On a bright March Day, young explorers embarked on a whirlwind journey across the globe—stepping from Denmark to Brazil and from Austria to China in mere moments. As they visited each country stand, they eagerly collected stamps in their passports and immersed themselves in hands-on activities. From crafting a Chinese bookmark based on their Zodiac sign to building Viking fortresses in Denmark, every stop offered a unique and engaging cultural experience.
Guiding our young adventurers were over 30 enthusiastic Year 8 students from DGS, who showcased exceptional leadership and support throughout the day. Many of them used this opportunity to work towards their ‘Gold’ badge on the DGS Leadership Ladder, serving as inspiring role models for the younger participants.
The day ended with smiles all around, as each child took home not only wonderful memories but also a collection of arts and crafts inspired by countries as diverse as France and Brazil.
We can’t wait to welcome another group of young globetrotters next year as we continue this exciting and much-loved tradition at DGS!
