DGS students win top prizes at High Sheriff Young Engineer Awards

On 24th June, the High Sheriff Young Engineer Awards took place, where outstanding students from Oxfordshire in Years 8-13 are recognised for their hard work, academic abilities and promise in the field of Engineering.

Two nominees from Didcot Girls' School were invited to attend the award ceremony, where Rhosyn Edwards received 3rd place in the Year 10-11 category (for her powered glider) and Sophie Chan was the winner in the same category (for her morse code translator). 

The High Sheriff's Young Engineer of the Yearr was also granted to Sophie Chan. 

The awards were generously sponsored by Lucy Group, with Rhosyn winning £100, Sophie winning £400 and DGS receiving £1000.

We are exceptionally proud of our students and are thrilled that their engineering achievements have been recognised in this way. Congratulations!
