World Book Day 2024 was celebrated in usual DGS style! Dozens of students came to school dressed creatively as a book character, making the costume competition especially difficult to judge. 

In the end, Miss Trunchball came in 3rd place, The Orange Crayon was 2nd and the March Sisters from Little Women were the overall winners. We were delighted by the number of students getting into the spirit of World Book Day and paying homage to their favourite book character.

We also asked staff and students to add their Happy Thoughts to the display in the library. Inspired by Peter Pan, we wanted to take the opportunity to remind ourselves and each other of the many positive things in our lives.

The Reading Ambassadors also hosted competitions throughout the week, including a fan fiction writing competition, and an art competition to summarise a book in a single image.
