On Thursday 9th November, the Reading Ambassadors attended the Oxfordshire Book Awards ceremony at Magdalen College School in Oxford.

The afternoon saw young readers from all over Oxfordshire gather to celebrate the winning and Highly Commended books in each of the three categories: Best Picture Book, Best Junior Novel and Best Secondary Novel. Authors and illustrators accepted their awards, made speeches thanking their readers and answered questions from the audience. Highlights included a draw-along from Kevin Jenner, author of 'We Are the Shapes', an entertaining reminder from Simon James Green about the importance of laughter and an inspiring speech from Cynthia Murphy about her book 'Win, Lose, Kill, Die'. 

The event was such a wonderful celebration of reading and we can't wait to go back next year!
