Year 9 student, Isobel Blakemore, has been chosen as the runner-up in the Young Citizens Mock Magistrates Court Reporter competition. The Court Artist and Court Reporter competitions run alongside the Mock Magistrates competition. 

This year, Alice Kent, Anna Cairns and Isobel Blakemore accompanied us to Oxford Magistrates court to make notes and sketches on the mock trials - Anna and Isobel then wrote up court reports of the proceedings, and Alice drew a court sketch from memory. 

This competition was at a national level and Isobel's article was picked out from many across the country to be selected as runner-up for her brilliant writing skills. Her submission was highly commended by the judges: journalist and legal commentator, Joshua Rozenburg and Crime and Court Reporter, Tom Seaward. They said that they were 'particularly impressed with Isobel's technique, clarity, and creativity'. 

All of our students' entries were superb, and we are very proud of their efforts.
