Primary school students travel the world at annual International Day

Posted on: 09/03/2023

Didcot Girls’ School was once again delighted to welcome over 200 primary school children from Didcot and surrounding areas to International Day, its long-standing celebration of languages and cultures from around the world.

On what was a snowy March day in Didcot, children travelled from Peru to Portugal and from France to China in just a few steps, collecting stamps in their passports for each of the country stands they visited.

Our young guests were guided by over 30 Year 8  DGS students, who did an outstanding job in supporting them and representing the school. Many of our students were able to use this experience to count towards their ‘Gold’ badge on the DGS leadership ladder, having acted as role models for the younger children.

Everyone went home with a treasure trove of memories and a bag full of arts and crafts they created inspired by the cultures of many different countries.

We very much look forward to welcoming another cohort of young globetrotters next year, as we continue this successful and long-standing event at DGS.
